I continued operating my lunch-hour scrap business and kept my eyes and ears open for new opportunities. One day a gentleman who owned a muffler shop called, asking if we bought junk catalytic converters. I knew that there was platinum in the convertors, but had not been able to find a buyer/processor of this type of material, at least in small quantities.
